Privacy and cookie policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026.
1. Your documents
FreePDF processes files locally in your browser. The documents, images, passwords and signatures you use in the tools are not sent to our servers or to third parties, and we do not store them. When you close the tab, they are gone from memory.
Exception: if the site operator enables the optional high-fidelity Word-to-PDF conversion server, the .docx file is sent encrypted (HTTPS) to that server only to convert it and is deleted immediately afterwards. The tool says so on screen.
The OCR tool downloads public language models from a content delivery network (CDN); that download never includes your files.
2. Advertising
FreePDF is free because it shows ads. We use Google AdSense and, optionally, Google Ad Manager. These providers may use cookies or identifiers to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, we will ask for your consent before using advertising cookies.
3. Analytics
We may use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which tools are used (e.g. “3 files were merged”), with IP anonymization. The content or names of your files are never sent.
4. Local storage
The site stores a copy of its own files in your browser (service worker) to load faster and work offline, as well as any OCR models you download. You can delete them from your browser settings.
5. Your rights
Since we do not collect your documents or personal data, there is no data about you to access or delete. For any question write to contacto@freepdf.app.
